Default p0325 code help!

my girlfriend just bought a 96 cavalier and had 2 codes. p0325 and p0134. i know that the 325 is something with the knock sensor and the 134 is a bad o2. now my question is, to fix the knock sensor code will replacing the sensor simply fix it or is the engine done?

DTC P0134- O2 Sensor CKT No Activity (Bank 1 Sensor 1).

DTC P0325- Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Malfunction Bank 1 or 1 Sensor.

My guess would be to check your wiring for both of these and go from there.

I was going to replace both sensors, but does the p0325 code mean the motor is screwed? I mean its idling like ****

It's idling like **** because your front o2 sensor isn't working. The engine needs readings from it to adjust fueling.

Like Diablo said, it very well could just be a wiring issue and the sensors aren't bad. Check the wiring before you buy new sensors.

And, no, this does not mean your motor is screwed at all.

Make sure you use an ACDelco O2 sensor. J-Bodies don't like Bosch either.

Do you know anyone with a scanner or HPTuners that can scan your car to see if that o2 is working, you'd be wasting money by throwing parts at it, you need to diagnose the problem.

Not yet, im going to try to run it with the maf disconnected then clean it and check the fuel pressure...would any of these problems cause the car to have like no power and struggle getting to 30 mph? Also going up hills it only goes 10 mph

Do yourself a favor and bring it to a capable mechanic instead of throwing parts at it.
