Default I got my fuel pump/filter swapped, now the gas door is popping out.

Lethal Performance swapped my fuel pump/fuel filter a week ago, and the gas door keeps popping out about a centimeter, I push it in, and it still appears as though its out a little. I dont have a pic of it, but this is what it looks like before I push it in(Pic is from morbids car in his thread, hope you dont mind man). Once I drive a couple blocks, it pops back out. Its annoying the hell out of me.

What do I need to do to fix this?

They had to remove the plastic insert, held in by a couple phillips heads screws.

Pull the cap, the screws and then the plastic insert and see if the door closes OK.

If it does, then the insert is hitting the plastic. Reinstall and look for interference.

If it doesn't, then the hinge has been tweaked a tad. Just tweak it back till it closes and reinstall everything.

Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes

Yes. Those pics are of Morbid's car, and he posted up a ton of pics and a State Trooper made a guest appearance in a couple.

Nevermind the gas cap..What about the taillight.

Seriously the filler neck and the splash guard were not installed correctly.

Nah, I don't mind. Though my gas cap door wasn't poking out like that before the wreck. Not sure what to tell you. If you have an aftermarket gas cap with a lock, you may try making sure the "handle" is horizontal. I noticed when mine wasn't, it would cause the gas cap door to stick out a little.

my car was like that when i bought it, I just took the little rubber stop that the door closes on out of the body panel itself and now it sits flush, I've never had any rattle problems either.

It could also be that they bent the neck a little to get the tank in/out. Mine bent a little when I swapped mine out and it was that the neck was too close to the bottom of the opening so I pulled up on it till the door would close without hitting the gas cap. Either way, you should tell them about it. Just so they know not to let it happen again.

That sparked a memory ...

The necks on the 98+ tanks have a rubber section and the filler neck is held in place by a 10mm bolt only accessible from the bottom. The mount is slotted so that the neck can be adjusted.

Make sure it's there first then adjust so that everything aligns.
