I had a turbo 5.0 that is now gone. :(

Anyways, I am debating another mustang or trans am, or maybe a camaro. Whatever I choose, its going to be an auto. So for now, I am reading up on these cars to see if I really want one or not.

Welcome to the board,

It's simple math

Mustang 5.0=suck ass
F-Body LS1=kick ass

kick ass>suck ass

Sorry for your loss though...

good luck!

I've driven both... I'd say the F-bodies are a bit more "agressive" from all angles. People on the road seem to respect the camaro more...

Mustangs... a dime a dozen...

Plus the F-body interior is far better looking IMO.

Almost everyone here is going to say get an f-body, but it's all in what you want. The auto trans and rear axle are weak in these cars and need to be upgraded/replaced. The LS1 has great power in stock form and is easy to get more power out of though, so that's the trade off.

I like the way Mustangs look and I had already had a Trans Am before (LT1), so I seriously considered them both when I was looking. Ultimately the Mustang disappointed me powerwise. Plus t-tops are just cool.

I know someone will say get an 03 or newer Cobra, but for that price you're in used Vette territory and should consider that as well if you're looking at Cobras.

Either way, welcome!

Don't be ignorant those fox bodies can be made crazy fast for a little amount of money. I do dislike mustangs but you still have to give credit where credit is due.

As for OPs interest. You wont be disappointed with either. Can find a hearty LS1 Fbody for under 10k. Make sure you like what your buying.

Ive had both, about 5 fox bodies now and 2 f-bodys, its really a toss up, i love both. you may get the best of both worlds, put an LSX motor in a mustang LOL

Don't be ignorant

:engarde: A little sarcasm, but seriously the OP goes to an LS1 board and asks, should I buy a ford or GM. What do you expect the answer to be?

If we wanted a Ford most of us would have bought a Ford.

Have you driven one yet?

My advice is to go and actually drive one and see if you like it. Maybe a friend has one or a friend of a friend?

They handle great, run great, my gf has an 05 stang and likes the way my 2000 SS rides better.

ha i know u were bein sarcastic but there is a built/turbo ls1 at the track...runnin 6.7's

lol all the built/FI fox's were running 5's...as a matter of fact they were the only thing in the 5's last thursday. and there were plenty of GM cars out there.

go for a vette or a terminator. otherwise, i would look at a mach or an ss. the ws6 looks good as well

Go the LS1 route.

Stalled and bolt on auto with drag radials = 12's with no other mods. and can be done all under 7 grand.
