Clunking noise under Accel/Decel also over bumps!!!
Well i had this very small clunking noise up near the trans. it has grown to be very loud and i can feel it pretty bad now. When i give it some power it clunks and if i let off real quick it clunks too. Also when im going over bumps as the rear end hits the bump i hear and feel the clunk up front in the trans area. I am assuming the trans mount or TA mount are shot??? anyone had this???

I just called the napa I got mine from and I think I got the right part number finally all though Aparently I was talking to a moron!
First he asked if I was a 5 speed or 6 speed lol, I'm like 5 speeds not even an option is it?
Then he tells my firebirds are wierd cuz some have an offset mount and some dont, i'm like WTF no their not their all the same,
then he tells me it shows a hydrolic one for 75 bucks So ya that guys smoking some good crack cuz I've never heard of a hydrolic trans mount.
Anyways after all that I think he found the right one cost was $15.29 and the pn is 6201543. BTW I think the stud size on that one may be slightly smaller than the GM mount so open it up at the store and find a nut and washer that will work before you get home and try to install it. hope this helps. ~wes
