Drag Racing Tech - Drag bars. Weld in or BMR setup?

Looking at the BMR setup that bolts to the stock location Xtreme kit or are the weld to the frame ones that Wolfe, Spohn and Midwest Chassis sell better?? The BMR sells for $100 more than the weld in ones, just not sure if it does anything more than bolt to the stock brackets?

The BMR doesn't bolt to the stock brackets at all. You have to weld brackets on the axle tubes and weld brackets to the body to connect the end links. It's a nice setup and comes with adjustable end links. Not sure if it's any better than the others, but it's nice. I haven't mounted mine up yet, so I can't comment on how well it works.

Part of your decision should be based on what you use your car for? If it is just a strip car then the weld-in like ours is the way to go. IF you do more street driving then would recommend one that has a poly mount to control the noise and harshness. But for the strip the solid mount is the best way to go.

So of course we recommend our sway bar/ Drag Bar.

I agree with Dan. For street use the BMR is great. For the track a weld in Anti Roll Bar is the way to go. We make them as well.

The BMR piece is more of a street type piece. The burkhart/wolfe type is race stuff.

I have a wolfe single on my car and since it went on the car has left deal level every pass, install was easy and it's easy to work with.

I have some exp. with the burkhart piece, also very nice and effective.


One bar I haven't tried, nor has anyone I know personally is the TRZ setup. That strikes me as an intresting setup, and looks like it should work pretty well, I'm trying to get someone I know to buy one so I can see how it works out.

If your talking about their extreme drag bar, it needs to be welded like already mentioned. They show pictures of it on there website.

I'd do the fully welded anti roll bar for a car that will mostly be at the track and that will run 8's or faster. the fully welded stuff does not ride well on the street, there is no give.

I've run the BMR and Spohn rear drag bars that weld two points only, those are fine on the street, only about 50% more stiff than stock. Have gone 1.35 - 1.38 with those bars with the cars leaving dead even.
