Exclamation Need MAJOR help. Engine is still stock!!!

Ok i am looking for suggestions on money VS horsepower gain mods. I know nitrous is a huge boost, but this is my DD, 100% street car.I drive a 1994 V6 firebird. All i have is a few little mods, exhaust, thats about it. After 209K miles my baby will still dominate most street cars. So i am currently tearing the engine apart due to an oil leak. figured while im in there i might as well upgrade. So what is the best mod to do without spending TOO much money? give me the part, cost and estimated HP gain. PLEASE

So, you want ONE engine mod that isn't nitrous, that doesn't cost TOO much, that will add hp. How vague.

Get a v8.

Also, your car cannot dominate most street cars.

Go to www.camarov6.com for specific help on your motor.

modding a V6 takes away the point of having a V6. sell it and get a V8 or leave it alone

I just sold my '99 v6 camaro (first car) and upgraded to a trans am ...First, they are right, the v6 is not a fast car. Second, the best "mod" you could do for the money would be to just get a v8.

Please refrain from these types of comments. Let's keep this thread on topic.

To the original poster....you might look into some V6-specific websites or forums.

You could turbocharge it...a turbo V6 can make a lot of power.

trying not to insult the OP, judging by tour responses, this may be a little over your head. if possible, just sell it and buy a v8.

Tore apart the engine and replaced all wires/plugs/gaskets/lines etcetc. While i was in there i had the intake ported and polished.I have determined i need a V8, but what would be the best deal, a crate engine or just a lightly used engine? and what is the best out there that would work with mine?

By the time your done with buying a V8, all the parts to go with it and suspension etc etc you could buy an LT1 or a higher mileage LS1 and be done. Just my opinion

The best thing to do is go to www.Fullthrottlev6.com they are full of info and I am a member there, you can get the 3.4 into the 12s and maybe 11s but its gonna cost money + $$ and turbo. and do an LS1 conversion if your gonna do a V8 swap and the site above can help with that, and use me as a referral
