is the 7.500" pushrod length to go with TFS 215cc LS1 heads milled 0.005" only in a LS1 engine?

There are a lot of variables to push rod length. 7.5" has been used a lot with TFS 215's. But cam base circle, head milling, lifters, gasket thickness, and rocker arms can all affect length. It is best to measure for sure.

7.500 should be correct. Shoot Ron a PM, he'll set you straight.

Ron would not say that, an experienced shop would say measure.
You are one heck of an advertising machine Doug

That's why I deferred to Ron for the final say. I'm just a go between.

Predator you need any help getting some sponsors? Maybe I can hook you up. LOL. Just helping out a great shop. Gotta be thankful now that I finally have my car running perfect. I owe it all to the guys at Vengeance Racing, so hate if you want.

Doug don't get so testy. We just like fuqqin with you about your post whoring

Ron will say "7.5 is close", but he won't say it's exact all the time. No experienced shop will tell you that. I've done 5 sets of trick flows this year, and had to use a different pushrod length every time. However, they were all milled more than .005 so I'd wager to say 7.5 should be pretty damn close for Abdullah's application.

Kuwait isn't that bad to ship to anymore. Not like it was a few years ago.

yea 7.5000 may get you into the ball park but I would rather buy a pushrod checker and make sure you get the correct lash on your rockers

It is not a matter of my happiness, it is a matter of doing it right. He talked about p-rod length, but you do not take into account what lifter he is running, or the exact mill. So how can you be sure?

Just relax Doug, I would be happy too with a good combo like yours and I am not here to criticise your combo or the way you went about it. That is your business.
I just find it funny how first it was LGM and now VR
But all is good! That trip to GA down 75 south must have been nice
I used to take that route on Spring brake to Daytona, even outran a GA Copper with my 84 TA (383 stroker) 5 miles from FL State line. What a roush.
Got pulled over in FL but they could not do anything as I had broken no laws in that state.
Not to mention I had to take a long detour to avoid GA on the way back.
Ahh, the good ole days

We've found TFS heads need anywhere from 7.500, 7.525 and 7.550 pushrods

Most setups we've found 7.525" gets us .060" preload

thanks all for the replies. i will use stock GM LS1 head gaskets. so 7.500" are almost correct for my TFS 215cc heads milled to 0.005" with stock GM head gaskets, 1.7 Yella Terra adjustable roller rockers and stock GM LS1 lifters.

i have the compcams pushrod length checker tool though, any one can tell me how exactly to use it?

btw, if i use GM LS7 lifters will the pushrod length needed be different?

thanks.
