Default AC compressor making noise when not in use

Last week I put a used AC compressor on my car and had the system charged. Everything seemed ok until yesterday when I noticed a high-pitched metallic grinding noise coming from the compressor when the car is on and the belt is turning but the compressor isn't actually on. When I turn on the AC and the clutch engages the noise stops. Any ideas?

Most likely it is the clutch bearing. Idk if you can just buy a clutch or not.

Where did you buy the pump from?
