Default I may be joining the darkside(m6 to Auto)

Well i must say it is getting really old trying to get my car to hook up And 60 like it should.

I have tryed and tryed but i have one more try in me before i do step over (if the 4.56 gears and 28 tire is not going to fix the problem) But i have been getting a bad beating from all my auto friends You know how you are and they have me talked into putting a th400 or a F.L.T 4l60 in with a yank SS4000.

Do you all think i should swap or stay m6 and try the 4.56 and 28 tire

So far my P/b cam only m6 11.45 at 120mph with a 1.65 60foot

if you plan on drag racing alot.. Then Th400 is the only way to go! The trans brake on it will help youre launce soo much! plus its fun shifting!
the 4l60e is fun for daily/highway, but the th400 is the way to go for awesome launches and still a little fun shifting!

Put a th400 in it and swallow your pride... I absolutely LOVE my th400. All last year I was having trouble with the clutch hydraulics so that was my final straw. With a convertor that was struggling and slipping I dropped .5 my first time out this year. Got the convertor figured out and I expect better times yet. If you don't daily drive the car then no worries.

yeah i know this will be the key to get me in the 10.xx's but i drive the car alot 75miles or so the any of the tracks i got to and i like weekend cruzs so if i keep the 3.89 gear and get a th400 and a 28 tire it wont be that bad but overdrive on a 4l60 or 4l80 would be nice

Thats my setup exactly (3.89 gear, 28 tire). With my 4000 stall convertor I can run 60 mph at just shy of 3000 rpms...

I haven't taken my car on any 75 mile trips, however, because I will just trailer it at that point (save tires and gas).

I did the swap YEARS ago when the clutch was giving me so much trouble plus I'm not a great stick shift driver anyways I found out, lol.
I went with a Rossler th350-thing is tough as nails.

Hold on to that pocketbook! Good news is your 6 speed is probably worth a good chunk to help fund the project...

I know when I did my th400 my 6 speed swap paid for EVERYTHING I needed for the automatic.

sweet... I mainly go to Cordova... if you're ever around gimme a holler...

BTW if you do end up going with a th400 let me know. I have a local shop who is known for building 400s and he does it on the cheap! Built the one in my car and it works fantastic (<1000 with an electronic VSS built in and with a transbrake).
