byunspeed and SDPC usually have them ready to ship. OP: weight of the car is a big factor. The LS7 clutch was built to handle 505HP but in a lighter car, over 500lbs lighter!

My car weighs 3570lbs with me and full of fuel.. Put 401hp to the wheels and I plan on doing new heads and intake soon...

Thanks

It all depends on how you intend to drive the car. My LS7 is holding fine behind my 408. I haven't gotten to the dyno yet, but no signs of slipping at all. However, I don't run drag radials anymore and have no intentions of launching the car from a dig either. Great clutch for a street driven cruiser. Very happy that I went with the LS7 as a replacement for my Spec 3 that had 50K miles on it when I took it out.

I wonder what clutch/flywheel kit I could replace it with that would be stronger, streetable, and comparable in price? I know this is like asking how do you do fast though. Mine weighs 3680 with me in it. Made 423 without cats, 413 with. That was with my Darts with 4 bent valves, horrible valveguides sucking down a quart every 1000 miles. They're fixed now, but it spun a rod bearing, so I'm going 6.0

My CETA went 11.15 @ 129 with the LS7 clutch setup. Car had PRC heads, MS3, FAST 90/90 and a 150 shot. Only had a 1.91 60ft on that run but was on worn out Hoosier QTPs. It was short shifted well below the 6800 limiter and a piece was broke off the #7 piston.

Over 550 rwhp with a 100 shot and I haven't had a bit of trouble from mine. I have roughly 20K miles on the LS7 clutch so far -- so slipping, no sticking, etc.
That being said, I do typically just run a street radial and spend most of my time playing around at a roll (i.e. no hard launches, clutch slipping, etc.).
