My ls7 clutch slipping?
I went from a 20 roll in first and shifted into 2nd and 3rd with no problems. I then shifted into 4th.... it went into gear... I let out of the clutch and hit the gas and it did nothing. I think it felt it spinning or something. The motor revved up. But it was in gear! I did another and it blocked out 3rd.. I pushed the clutch back in and tried again and it went in. This happens in second gear too when I go from a dig and hook good in first. LS7 clutch can't handle 385/360? I shift hard as hell tho. I don't go easy. But I thought the clutch should be able to hold my power. Maybe it's time for a Monster.

Wow I put down more power than you and race the car frequently and have no issues with slippage. How many miles do you have on the LS7 Clutch? Also Have you checked to see if the Rear main seal was leaking? If it is oil might have cotaminated the clutch disc causing it to slip under heavy load.

Ive got about 3k miles or more on the clutch. The rear main seal is not leaking. I guess I'm the lucky few whos clutch couldn't handle it. I heard even the stock z06s have some slipping problems...?

There are alot of variables in what/how a clutch can perform. First of all, it could be a defective clutch from teh get go. A stretch yes, but I try not to overlook anything that COULD be a source of a problem.
As mentioned, could be oil. Did you measure on whether you needed a shim? Could be the/a problem there. Car might be making more power than you think. Have you been hard on the clutch up to this point, abused it? So, there are a few things that COULD have happened, regardless of how far fetch they may seem.

BlkBird2000,
How is your clutch fluid ... clean ? black ? murky ?
Did you put in new hydraulics when you installed the clutch ?
After it's cooled down ... How does your clutch pedel feel ?
Is there any more slipping in higher gears if you accelerate abruptly ?
.

I haven't checked the fluid. I don't remember on the hydraulics. I bought the ls7 clutch kit. The clutch feels the same when hot or cool. 4th gear is the only one to slip during wot.

Hey Blkbird....after reading your last PM, I am thinking you could have a hydraulic issue.
Does this happen at the track when hotlapped, or on the street or both?
Reason I say this is:
When hot lapped @ track, fluid gets hot, and in doing so, causes missed shifts and hard to get into gear symptons.
However, IF in gear, and you are accelerating, and clutch slips, than that is clutch.
But, missed shifts and hard to get into gear can be hydraulics or clutch related.
But once in gear, clutch slips, 99% chance it is clutch
