c6 zo6 auto swap question?
#3
Very possible RPM is doing one for me now. They told me $10-12k. But i bought a 08 z off of them for 60k with the swap. They originally wanted 55k for the car but with the swap it came to 60k and they talked me into a procharger. Lets just hope that ls7 holds up i hear they have problems with dropped valves, bad rocker arms and oil starvation. Check out corvetteforum for alot of info. I plan on sending car off to prevent these problems next march. It arrives next week cant wait.

Yeah i know. I was in contact with katech already. I am sending the beast up there in march for the street attack. Reason being i want some added insurance i dont want my ls7 popping, i just hope it dont by then. I hear nothing but great stuff about katech so that is who is getting my car.

Auto is no problem, done my 1st one in 02 on an '01 Z. GM parts and money is all it takes. But if u are near me and want to inspect/ride my beast u are welcome. A LOT of people are asking about this, and there are 3 ways of doing it. Only 1 is wrong and the other 2 are budget/hp related. I brought up the idea of auto c6z 3 yrs ago on the CF (J HEBERT) and was ridiculed for it....now I am the 2nd quickest N/A forum member and everybodys' jumping on the band-wagon. Guys over there (CF) are more into HPDE's and stuff and they "don't want no stinkin' auto"

Depending on what your hp goals are I would use the 4L65. The 4l65 and 6l80 are direct bolt ins for vettes, but the 6l80 doesnt have all the aftermarket support it needs yet. The 6l80 can be built to hold 600-650 hp reliably. The problem with 4l80 is your car has to be cut and there is alot of other fitment issues. Putting exhaust back on a 4l80 car is difficult. I am pretty sure my 08 is the only 4l80 car that has exhaust ran all the way out the back, meaning no bullets and turn downs under the car. The guys at Late Model Racecraft have done an exceptional job on my car.

Our 8 second Z06 has it all the way out the back. We had ARH make us custom 2 inch headers with exhaust all the way out the back.
