Little help selecting mods please...
hey guys, I am supposed to be getting a forged 327 shortblock for my truck sometime soon for an FI setup, but have become bored with waiting and would like to get something that i can do to pass the time. with the stock 5.3 v8, i would like to see between 300-350 RWHP with mods that can be transferred to the new engine when i get it (except cam). This is my only vehicle and is my daily driver for now, so i would prefer absolutely NO loss in driveability. The mods that i looked into and would like advice on are:
cam, full specs would be nice as i know very little about cams.
heads (intake/exhaust specs, etc.)
roller lifters, rockers
headers
x or H pipe for exhaust
cold air system
like i said, i would prefer to have zero loss in driveability, and would be ecstatic if all of the mods except the cam would fit the new motor. if i can get 325+ rwhp with those mods, that would be fantastic. would prefer to spend under 3k if possible. can increase budget if necessary but would like the most bang for the buck, literally and figuratively.
existing mods are as follows...
2.25 in True duals (can fab adapters for the headers if necessary)
2/4 inch lowering system with adjustable rear shocks
thanks in advance for any help that you can provide. info on similar successful setups are beneficial as well.

Since you'll be supercharging it soon, go ahead and get some headers. I prefer x over h pipes. Roller rockers will help. I wouldn't touch the heads, cam, or CAI since they will specifically be spec'ed for FI.

price is no object. this truck was originally built with an open checkbook... i'm only interested in top of the line parts. i'm looking more towards the stainless headers like kooks and dynatech supermaxx, but i might eventually settle for ceramics.

We've done several 325-350 rwhp h/c trucks with stock like driveability. If you'd like some dyno graphs & info give one of my sales guys a call. The 212/218 cam & cnc porting the stock 5.3l head with 2.00/1.55 valves will cost about $1000+ springs!
