Default Harness Black Tape Source ?

Any good sources for harness black tape as electrical tape gets too gummy?

check out some of the restoration site (YearOne, Ground Up, OPIG, LMC).. they all carry harness warp tape like the oem factory.. but why not use the plastic sleeving harness or what i've seen now, which i like but is bit costly.. Black ‘Wrap-It™’ Wiring Harness Sleeving by Russell

That wrap-it looks nice! I might have to try that if I get mine running ever.

That looks like it is just slit conviluted tubing like they use from the factory, which you can buy cheap from places like Waytek wire

I have seen some samples of it at the Good Guys vendors booths.. Yeah.. it is like cloth like or some factory stuff..

Poconojoe, I have not researched if it is like any other product, but if as you say and its cheaper.. I'm for that ! I was just trying to let AKNovaman know that there is options.. and I do like the looks of it.. easy to use too.

I looked Waytek doesn't sell the slit stuff, but I know I saw it in somcebody's catalog. i found a better picture, its not the conviluted style tubing, it looks more the harnesses from the 50's cars, except they looked like some kind black tarry material. I'm all for buying it for less too. 90% of Russel's products are somebody else's products repackaged

I use this high temp silicone rubberized tape in place of heat shrink tubing and electrical tape. It might get a bit pricey if you're taping the whole harness, but it isn't sticky from glue, as it adheres to itself.

Here is a simular product, thats a little cheaper, but still pricey, if you're wrapping a whole harness

Eastwood sells that stuff

I much preferr the mesh wrap for wiring. It is cheaper, easier to use, looks better, if you get the slit type allows you to add wire easily. I used the slit type with velcro wire wraps I got at a local home store.

Summit and Jegs sell it, but McMaster Carr is probably the ultimate source.

Whatever you do don't use the cheap plastic convoluted tubing from the local parts store. You need nylon tubing, not plastic, if you want it to last a number of years.

The split braided Nylon covering I've found works well and looks good too.
"F6" is the brand name I've used. Reasonably priced in bulk.
Need to heat cut. I use a soldering gun or a microtorch.

Many vendors sell it including Waytek
I've found using harness tape where wires exit loom works well. At ends can use heat shrink tubing or for stepping down to a smaller size.
