Yup, tire size limitations are what everybody always talks about with these little V8 cars, and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it too. However, currently with 225-40-ZR16s on there, my Miata gets away harder and faster than my neighbor's Cobra does with 355-50-15s out back. Maybe it's a street car, non issue, I'll just have to learn how to drive more with throttle modulation.

I won't lose any sleep simply if I can't do 0-60 faster than a Hyabusa.

Then your neighbor needs to learn how to get off the line well or get some better tires. The compound is more important than the width of the tire. Would be helpful to get more rubber under the car though.

No... A Cobra won't touch a light car with an LS2.

I think I have an idea on how an Lsx engine feels in a small car

And getting off the line (which is what I'm assuming the OP meant by "getting away" ) is in big part a skill and with any sort of half decent 315s even a stock suspension cobra should be able to "get away" pretty well
