Whats a Good Cam for Roll Racing ?
ive used the search button and i really cant find a answer to my question.. ive considered 3 cams and after all the research ive concluded that these cam are not suited for Roll Racing Trex, MS3 , MS4 ive decided to go cam only while spraying a 150 shot
So Now for the Experts what in you opinion is a Cam that best suites Roll racing ?

all those cam suck for roll racing. just get a 2JZ in there and put 1000RWHP to the ground.
Actually just get something that is going to match what parts you have now and you will be good to go.

Since you said you will be roll racing your needs in a cam will differ than others. Since you'll be rolling during most of your racing already going 40 mph+ and I'd guess already downshifted into at least 3rd you will already be in your cars powerband at 3.5k to 4k. Most of the smaller 220, 224, 228 duration cams are good for low and mid range power (1800-6200 rpm) where as the bigger 232, 236, and 240+ duration cams are more suited for making power in mid to high rpm ranges (2500-7000rpm). So cams like the MS3, MS4, T- rex, Polluter, Vindicator, or even a custom grind will get you what you'd like. But sometimes bigger isn't always better. Is the car a DD? If so getting it tuned and driving it every day will be harder to do than if you went with a slightly smaller cam. Just some stuff to think about. Also if your car is an auto a 3600 stall is a must with any of those bigger cams, and some will say a 4000 is a must, and a tranny cooler. If your an M6 3.73s or even 4.10's will be needed and will help you with your roll racing a lot more also. Don't forget supporting mods as well, I'm gonna guess you already have some...

hmm...make sure this roll racing cam comes with a burlap bag to put your nuts in.
a4s and roll racing don't mix very well. you'll want a 4k+ converter. be sure to have a lot of money put back for another transmission. that 4l60 is not going to like 7k rpm shifts and a 150 shot. i'd be surprised if it lasted 10 pulls with your intended setup. go with a trex and never look back.

Yes I'd go with a cam package from one of those vendors that supplys either 3 of those cams you mentioned. New pushrods, valvesprings, ported oil pump, and new timing chain usually comes in a complete cam package. Also like someone else said you'll need at least a 4000 stall a yank ss4000 would be ok, but I'd use a PT4400 if it was my set-up. 3.73's in a an auto will also wake the car up a lot. Make sure to get a tranny cooler though since you will putting a lot more stress on the tranny than you would stock.

If there is one mistake to be made in this thread, it's to think an auto is going to be better for roll racing on the highway than a manual. Converter only makes up for a little bit of a shortfall... you still won't downshift properly like a manual.

It's not necessarily the wrong setup either though .... If it were already a m6 then YES but spending the time and money on a m6 swap when it could be used for other mods NO .

None of you read my post. I said the mistake was to think the auto was BETTER for roll racing.
Have I walked M6s in my 3600 stalled car? yep
That's missing the point entirely. Mainly to clarify for the OP, I didn't mean your auto couldn't roll race... just trying to point out the obvious (or not obvious to some people) of why an auto isn't perhaps the best choice for the highway.
