I think with the 2 series carrier the ring gear is thicker than the 3 series. I got a buddy that is cutting any where from 1.56 to 1.62 60 foots with his 3:73 2 series. So you should be fine

No problems with the install and no noise when I rode in it. He bought the summit gears also

the thick gears are strong, and set up is the same as any other gear.

I ran a 2 series carrier with 3.42's. I cut mid 1.3 60ft. for a while but after every pass it got louder & louder until it finally gave.

So even with the same ratio, the gears in a 2 series carrier will be thicker and stronger than those in a 3 series? I have a 2 series and was thinking about getting a 3 series but maybe not any more.

yes the two series gears that are lower ratio are a "thick" gear. the carier is offset more so it requires a spacer for a 3 series gear or the specific thick gear. ive ran 3.73 and 4.10 without issue for years

didnt turn out too good did it. lol since you already have gears it would be cheaper for you to just get the spacer to put behind the ring gear

no so far its fine. the ring gear isnt off. its just the pinion gear was 20 thousands to deep without any shims
