Default will be needing a good sounding catback soon!

My catback currently consists of the stock pipe with a borla muffler welded in. With a cam, headers, & ORY it sounds great, not too loud but its got a great sound at WOT, & no drone or rasp. The exhaust has a rattle either in the stock pipe(double walled?) or the muffler. You can tell its been pieced together back there so its time for a new catback system. I been listening to clips on LS1sounds, I like the sound of the Hooker & GMMG probably the best. Borla & GMMG are nice systems, but a lil out of my price range. I love the looks of the magnaflow, its priced decent but I hear its a real quiet one. I dont want obnoxious like LM1 either. I wouldnt mind something that sounds a lil more aggressive than what I got. The Hooker catback is nicely priced, but its not stainless & dont like the tips. It does sound very good though. I would love to just buy the magnaflow but from what I have read about it, do you think it will be too quiet even with my mods? Here is a sound clip of mine before I did a cam swap.

Magnaflow is quiet compared to Loudmouth or GMMG, but really it's not that quiet when compared to stock. Here is a friends 98 Z28 with LT's/ORY and Magnaflow. It sounds good. I can't say whether it is quite as loud as your current setup, but I like it. See what you think.

If you want the best flow available, cheapest price, good sound, and are not worried about showing the world your great dual tips, this is a setup you may want to consider. It works well on a Z28.https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ack-style.html

Gibson stainless

At idle and cruising is reasonable, but when you get on it, it gets loud and sounds awesome.

Yea, I was a lil interested in that one, it sounded pretty mean on slps website. I listened to a lot of different sound clips & am gonna go with the GMMG. Its pricey but its stainless & its got a great sound to it. Dont really care for oval tips so that will save a lil on the price.

I like the looks of the PowerFlo...I am thinking I will be using it for my next exhaust with an e-cutout.
