Default Help!!!!!!

okay, so last nite i was driving around a turn goin probably 25-30mph and then i hear a loud banging noise form the back of the car and it shakes, after that it started happening in every turn and sometimes wen i wasnt turning... i figured that i broke another rear but i took the diff. cover off and everything was fine, checked my axels and theyre fine, and nothing looks out of place or broken.....does anyone have any ideas?

just do a simple shakedown of everything, make sure all the bolts are tight on the suspension parts on the rear. something came loose lol

all bolts are torqued properly any more ideas?

thats what i was thinkin but when i took off the diff cover i looked at the the gears, ring and pinion, axels, and c-clips but cant find out whats wrong

I would say take the carrier out and check the internals out. Sounds like something inside it is crapped out, i.e. spider gears or clutches.

How much driving have you done on the carrier that's in there (seeing as you said you've broken it before)?

And also another stupid question, are you running the limited slip additive? Not doing that by accident made my ten bolt act really weird once. It actually acted about the same as it did when I broke the spider gears, loading and unloading one side tire in a turn, popping and banging, etc, granted it wasn't as extreme.

did u add the additive after it made the noise because i just put it in today along with some new fluid so im hoping that that will fix it

well if you have the stock posi unit and you changed the fluid without adding any additive... yeah it will cause the posi unit to bind up.

Wow clean up on isle 2.....lol. Like mentioned above just double check all of the hardware and sway bar end links. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help.

haha. I had them grenade on me before, and he is describing my exact symptom i had when mine grenaded... It was bad. If he did not add the GM posi additive when he changed the fluid with a stock posi unit. it will feel like the spider gears are gone.
