3 years later finally sprayed at the track!
Well...it aint pretty, still working out some bugs... I am gone from home 200 days+ a year, and between the weather and life, it has been difficult to find the time to play with the spray! Three years running with this project!
I was going to New England Dragway (2 hours away) Wednesday, I tow the car that far away in case it breaks...LOL the truck blew the tranny! So you can see my luck...I am undetered though and press on.
Today was awesome about 30 cars total at Oxford and perfect weather!
Oxford is an 1/8 mile...got some logs, still have some issues but I am getting closer. My goal is a simple 11.5 setup.
I am getting KR at launch, I think its Burst knock but I am not sure, In Oct 08, It was 10 degrees KR on launch and then would trail off as the logs from today. Today with some tune changes I am getting 4 degrees kr @ launch and it decays throughout the run, so I dont think its real Knock...
Anyways here are some screenshots...
I need to change the Wideband sensor (I know...its tucked under the torque tube cover so I need a lift to get at it!). Also My window Switch needs to be programed for my new Redline settings...setup on these logs @ 5900 needs to go to 6200...
Here is a NA run...burnout was poor
Above...
NA Injector Duty Cycle 53% (HSW Delphi 42's)
Fuel Pressure 51.2 low AVG 56.3
Max MAF Freq NA 9748
End of run timing 20.5
Looks like some real KR at 3200 RPM ...hmmm
Above .026 x 2 dual nozzles 50 dry shot...
Note no "real KR" @ 3200 ???
NA Injector Duty Cycle 61.5% (HSW Delphi 42's)
Fuel Pressure 49.8 low AVG 57.7
Max MAF Freq NA 10329
End of run timing 20.5
Nitrous Bottle pressure 971 low 987 AVG
Note the 1st to 2nd shift looks like it shut off/on for no reason!
Above .031 x 2 dual nozzles 75 dry shot...with Cos 5 active (3 degrees timing pulled)
NA Injector Duty Cycle 67% (HSW Delphi 42's)
Fuel Pressure 49.8 low AVG 56.8
Max MAF Freq NA 10329
End of run timing 18.5 (Cos 5 pulling 3 degrees)
Nitrous Bottle pressure 984 low 1004 AVG
Should have left the timing alone I think on this run...although did not see a MAF Freq increase with the bigger jets...
Need more seat time...here are the time slips
Run 1 Na #1
Run 2 .026x2 Dry
Run 3 .031x2 Dry
Plan forward...
1. Change Wideband sensor
2. Change upper RPM limit points on Window switch
3. Try and figure out the "burst Knock" issue

COS 5 is a Custom Operating System that is part of EFI Live. When a Spare pin on the PCM is grounded, it uses alternate timing and VE tables to allow basically two tunes in one (timing and fueling changed with the flip of the switch).
When COS 5 is active (rocker switch) it pulls timing that you designate, in my case 3 degrees.
I dont think I gained much on the bigger jets (mere 75 shot) because I pulled the timing just to be safe (I had the logger, but I did not have my laptop to view each pass at the track).

The tranny in the Avalanche has been changed out, pick that up tomorrow so I can tow it down ($1620 for a rebuilt tranny installed, less than I thought!).
Holding off on the second stage until I get the Burst knock taken care of. I think all I have to do to disable it is up B6208 to say 200 degrees.
I think the times with the current jetting and spraying to 6200 should put me Mid 11's with the dry.
The problem I had intermittently spraying last time at NED in Oct 08 was a bad relay (did not count that as good Nitrous pass).
Robert hard to tell on the lean spike, as the WB sensor needs a changing...I have a spare, its getting my rather large frame under the Vette and pulling the torque tube cover off to swap the sensor.
