Default What did I just find in my oil pan?!

So I was just draining my oil, and found this gem. What is it??

Looks like part of the low oil sensor. I bet your low oil light is on now isn't it?

+1. That looks like the stalk that the float rides on for the low oil sensor.

Surprisingly, my low oil light isn't on.

Thanks bjamick and digitalsolo for your help. I'll check it out next time I change the oil.

LMAO !

I recently did headers on my car, and my dipstick didnt look like that.

I have no clue what that thing is. If it was the end os the stick, the end of it where its bulged out should have a provision for an o-ring.

Hang on to it just in case though..

That's definitely the end of the dipstick. It snapped off right where the o-ring fits into the groove. I don't know how in the hell it gets broken, but there was another guy that found the same thing about two months ago.
