Default Drill Mod?

So I've heard about the drill mod and I understand the purpose behind it and why GM designed it that way in the first place. What I don't know is whether u perform it on the slave or the master, do u need to perform it on replacement parts like if u buy one from advanced auto, and what the best and safest method for performing it is. Could someone help me out w/ some pics/ discription, I would appreciate it.

Also, where's the best place to get a replacement besides GM.

Thanks.

You drill out the end that goes into the Master Cylinder.

Here is a pic I took when I did it..

Any advice on purchasing a replacement slave and master from the parts store vs GM?

Pretty much all the slaves are the same (pretty much) I do know that Advance Auto has teh same one GM carries.

MC, THAT on teh other hand is another story. The factory MC to begin with is CRAP, so what they sale at your auto parts store is pretty much the same (crap), so unless you are strapped for cash, I would not buy a GM/Auto parts store MC....pick up a nice unit from Ram or Tick (or the like)

Slave....again, pretty much the same, auto parts, GM, etc..

It's drilling out the hydraulic line that comes form the master cylinder housing.

Look at the pictures in the_merv's post above.
