Default tr 230/224 cam any comments appreciated.

I have a 99 hawk m6 with K&n, lid and ftra + free mods. When i do the cam i will also be doing ls6 intake, asp crank pulley and hooker with off road y. I think the cam sounds great but the car is a streeter so if any body with this cam would like to comment on it drivability ect. (i will also get it dyno tuned after the mods) If anyone want to recomend other cams im open for sugestions. Also besides the cam what do i need to buy as far as springs and retainers.
And last ive never been into a gen III motor any thing i need to look out for when doing the swap

I'll be going to this cam soon myself but my car isn't daily driven much.

If you do a search for 230/224 you'll find alot of info!

I am also planning on going with this cam, any info is appreciated, also could someone compare it to the 227/224 114lsa, thanx... <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

What he said basically, how street driveable is it, and how reliable is it, how hard on the motor etc...

I have had both cams and both were a blast on the street. The TR227/224 cam had a much tamer idle and drove just as good as my TR224 114 cam did. The TR230 had a rougher idle, but I never had a problem with it stalling on the street.

The cams were very close in the drivability department, but the TR227 was a little nicer around town.

I believe Jason had 4.30 or 4.56 gears with these cams so his streetabilaty was better then a stock geared car by far. If you have stock gears you may want the 227 or smaller cam
