Another hooker lover here
My car is not cammed but my hooker sounds great with my QTP's and off-road Y. I use to have the original loudmouth exhaust and could not stand the rasp or drone, plus it was wayyy to loud for my old ***. On top of that I paid $319 for it three years ago from a sponsor here. Don't know if the price has gone up or not...
Get it, you won't regret it.

I don't think you will see a power loss. No cam here either but went from an LM1 and ory to the Hooker and am very happy. It is fairly quiet cruising but wakes up nicely when needed. With a cam it should sound real nice.

Guess I am also in love with my Hooker. I just installed a cutout on my car finally lastnight and even though it flows really great I can tell a bit of difference with the cutout open. I am gonna take it up to a buddy of mines dyno and see just what I gain with it dumped vs. the hooker. You just can't beat the sound it has though absolutely no complaints there. I have posted a few sound clips of my car if you want to find them

I made that down in my shop. Had to figure out a way to minimize the amount of holes required that I had to drill in my dash to mount them all and still keep it secure. Turned out really good I think some people freak out when they realize I drilled through the dash but I am not worried about resale it is just a toy

Well if you do like I did you can pick up the Aerochamber muffler at your local parts house for about $80 & then keep your stock i-pipe over the axle, re-weld the stock muffler outlet pipes on the Hooker & get some nice tips. I only have about $200 in mine. Granted I still have a stock i-pipe/over axle but it doesnt seem to be hurting me enough to matter at this point.
That could eliminate the waiting time.

I'd like to take credit for starting the Hooker CB trend.
Back in 2000 before a lot of people even knew Hooker made a catback for these cars, I ran one on my 98 SS. This was after trying about 5-6 other catbacks I didn't like. Once I put the Hooker on, I've preached for 9 years it's HANDS DOWN the best catback on the market as far as performance vs. dollar. And FWIW, that same CB was on that car when I sold it in 06, with absolutely no problems with rust.
