Awesome write up and great pics!!
But the article would sound more professional if the part about cutting the belt for removal was omitted.
I didn't realise I came off that harshly.

Another great write-up, Tony.

But if cutting the stock belt off is "easier" for you than removing it properly you probably aren't the right person for the job...
Really? How, exactly, do you properly remove the belt without the tool?

I actually have the belt removal tool, the people reading the writeup and installing the pulley in their own garage do not - hence no reason to show it in use, especially on an item that is likely going to be thrown away. If you would like to save the belt, you can remove the pulley with the belt intact and when the crank pulley is free, simply slip the belt off. FWIW, the belt install "wedge" does not work with aftermarket crank pulleys, the only way to reinstall it to walk the belt back on, like in the old "V" belt days.

Please read the link in the first post.
Thank you.

I did read the link in the first post and the author said it was easier to cut the belt off because most don't have the tool to remove it. Then, you posted a dig at him, saying, "But if cutting the stock belt off is "easier" for you than removing it properly you probably aren't the right person for the job." So, I defended him by asking you to share another way to remove the belt without the proper tool. Thank you.

The author replied above (Joseph). You are right, this guy doesn't know shit about working on cars, and doesn't do it for a living. Nope, he sucks. :)

Oops, sorry Joseph...I missed that you wrote the article. I just assumed Tony did because he posted the link. :)

Joseph really doesn't know shit. TSP just pays him to pretend like he's the lead mechanic there. :D

I know. Joseph still emails me daily asking which lid is best, and what spark plug gap makes the most hp.

:D
Yep, I even call up TSP and other shops with a voice changer app on my iPhone and a fake name like "John" or "Ryan", or a combination of such; so that I can ask how to do installs.

Nice, thanks for the update. Hopefully my car didn't make you swear too much and chunk tools all over the shop floor.

gm service manual says A/C belt is a 1 time use, and yes the proper way to remove it per GM is to cut it off
pics right from gm service manual,

installing with the tool:

Thanks Jay! I never use the service manual, but good to know my way is the same method as GM recommends for removal. I have the little wedge tool in pic 2 (comes with the belt). I just assumed the same tool can be used for removal, but once I found out it didn't work on the aftermarket pulley I just threw it in the bottom of the tool box.

Yes you guys did get me on that one and I will take it in stride. :chug:
I didn't realise when I worded it the first time around that I came off like I did and I am sorry if I got your guys' panties all twisted.
I knew the LS3 came with tensioners for a fact in the GXP and the Corvette as I seriously looked into both vehicles. I guess GM cheaped out on the Camaro. But, this isn't the only cost reduction I have seen on this vehicle. I should of known to look into it more and shame on my for that folly.
