Default Mcleod master - pedal feel?

Hi All,

I have a mcleod master cylinder on the way - how much more effort does it require than the stock master?

Me personall I think there is a noticalbe pedal difference between the McLeod and the stocker. I noticed a increased pedal effort after and during a WOT passes. Just seems to get tougher to push. I have noticed it in my 00 and my 96 with the MC. Do yourself a big favor and bench bleed it before you install. Also stop by the auto store and pick up a few feet of 3/8 oil cooler hoes. Long enough to cover the braided line, then buy the DEI heat shield sleeve. Was maybe 20.00 with the clutch fluid. It will save you from boiling the clutch fluid down the road. Mity Vac worked great for me as well.

I would like to find some hoes at any auto store I know it's just a typo fella, but I got a chuckle out of it I'll second exactly what you said though.

Great ideas. The larger the bore the stiffer the pedal will be.

The Gen I masters had CNC on the rubber boot. The Gen II models have nothing on the rubber boot.

I like the stiffness personally. And seems to get harder to push the more I push the car. When I get in a friends stock car, feels like my foot is gonna go through the floor board

Personally, I think either is good (Tick v/s McLoed). From what I understand, the Tick Master can move more fluid though. I'm not entirely sure exactly what is different about the new and old McLoed Master. All I know is that I have the newer one. Billy M, what is the difference?

Both first gen and second generation Mcleod Master cylinders are a larger than stock 13/16 bore. The difference between the two generations is internal piston design. The first generation had a inferior piston design that did not work, in the gen II we worked toward making a building a better piston design similar to what wilwood makes in their kits.

For future reference. Would you mind sharing the rebuild kit part numbers?

We only offer rebuild kits for the Gen II design. PN 139065

If you need a rebuild kit for a Gen I design you will need to contact the manufacture that made them for Mcleod.

CNC Brakes

San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 275-1663

Their part number for the rebuild kit is a 910ML
