Default Suggestive launching technique

Just want to know how others are launchining theses Cars. I'm off to the 1/4 mile track again next Friday (autocross Sunday also) and want to try some different things. My best is a 14.27@102.59mph on a 2.37 60 ft. This was slipping the clutch at 3500- 4000 most of the times I slip at around 2000 and a 2.4 60 ft is achived

CHA CHING!
Only kidding man. Slipping the clutch would probably be the best method without the HE axles.
PS These cars do not launch well without the right tires and the axle upgrade. And they break prett easy. But you probably know that already.

I used the same aproach as you (feathering the clutch) but had much better results. My 60' times (only at track twice). These were on the stock run-flats. Only mods were K&N intake and a catback. So...I don't know. Maybe the track you were running at wasn't prepped very well?

I slip under 2k or else i just sit there and spin on the street, at the track seems like under 3k would be a good number

on a diffrent note, im interested in how you hand polished your throttle body. Id like to polsih and port mine my self, do you have any links to a write up or just some basic tips ?

All I did with the throttle body was sand the rough casting and smooth out all the edges On the inside with 120 grit then finished with 220 grit. No real port work. Just helping the air flow better, I'm still waiting on my DIY intake tube parts, buddy owes me money for work on his VW. As for launching I only had it spin out of the hole once (3500) I usualy hop 3 times then hook(street or track) Good mph Cobra, where I race that mph has a high 12 with your 60ft.

Well..there are 3 problems with that.

1: I don't have a video camera that I can upload videos with

2: 13.11 is not worth getting on video

and the biggest reason
3: If I were to do that, my diff would shatter into 40 pieces just because I decided to get the run on video.

13.11 is worth recording with the mods you have on the V. MAny will never see this number from a 1st gen V with the mods you have. Im impressed as I know how difficult these cars are to get used to running at the track.

I've made 9 passes on this car on 2 separate nights. Both nights were very hot and muggy. My first pass was 2.3 launching with traction control(rest of the runs in comp mode), then a 2.2, then all my other runs have been 2.1X. I launch 3k-4k slipping the clutch. I can only do it a few times because the clutch gets REALLY soft after a few passes..lol...and like 'cobra', a few extra tenths isnt worth grenading the rear end.

I have 12 passes on this car on track now and hope for more. I just want to dip into a 13 sec pass before I do a few mods. I'm going to try a few numbers between 2.5-4.5k feathering the clutch and not hot lapping the car. A tune would help lots but isn't happening till October

I ran a 13.3 @110mph with just a Corsa/Kooks/CAI. I think my 60ft times were 1.9-2.0 can't remember. 3k launch seem to work for me. I haven't had time to go to the track with my new mods.

Another Question. How much fuel in the tank for best Results? I've ran both, 5/8ths a tank and an 1/8th. Car felt better with more fuel in it...
