He has been here for years. I remember when he had the truck with the turbo and he had all his racing vids on here.

Damn...Thought you were still fine tuning the wagon, didn't know you already started let alone finished with this project! Nice work! Any plans on raising the boost to the double digits? Have any pre-turbo dyno numbers for comparison?

this car was easy compared to the wagon and we are still fine tuning the wagon. wagon was a complete build, g8 just a turbo kit.

the project is not finished but it is done for a little while. i have spent too much money and i want to enjoy it a little before i crank it up and break something expensive. probably wont turn up the boost much but i would like to see a mild cam and decent but still quiet exhaust. converter too. each one of those items will make a big deference. the turbos have a ton of room to grow. they are rated at something like 650hp each.

that dyno is very stingy. tom told me 275-280 is all stock g8's get on that dyno. i am up 200rwhp

we are taking the g8 and the wagon on drag week and that starts a week from today. i can hardly wait.

Youtube is our friend Jim!!

btw, just saw that video and have a couple questions...
1) Saw that you have a DOD cam, I've heard those rob power in a big way, so like you said a mild cam will free up a lot of power but did you disable the DOD for DD purposes or is it still activated?
2) this is a custom kit built by your correct? You just measured out and figured out what you needed for piping and went from there?

stock dod cam so it is tiny. just for reference in the fairmont we picked up 100hp swapping from a stock 5.3 truck cam to an 01 ls6 cam and that was without raising the boost. this car should see big gains similar to that.

i was under the car last night. besides the 5 mufflers there is a section of pipes that are 2" and a section of that pipe is crushed down to 1.75". exhaust should help quite a bit.

yes, i put it all together. just started welding up stuff where it fit. looked at the aps kit for some ideas.

woohoo. first trip to the 1/4 and the g8 busted out an 11. that 6 speed auto is kicking my *** but i am starting to figure it out. that 3-4 shift is a bitch.

started out the day with the stock tires. after a few runs and rolling into it over the first 1/8th mile i got a best of 12.8@123 with a 2.35 60'. then ran to sears and got my dr's put on and after working on the shfiting all day got a best of 11.95@122 with a lowly 2.05 60' the 2.05 60' is lack of power down low, not a traction issue.

9psi. 90deg or so, 13deg of timing.
