Default turn signal not workin, please help!

I just bought a 98 firebird and the left signal blinker just indicates and stays on. The right blinker blinks fine. All the bulbs light up and the lights blink when the hazards are on, just the left side wont blink. Any ideas on what this could be, I need to get it fixed asap so I can get an inspection sticker. Thanks

You have a bulb thats out. Either the rear bulb or the front bulb. When one fails the blinker will just stay lit steady to let you know its out.

.

I replaced the bulb and it still does the same thing.

ETA: I changed both the front and rear bulbs.

i researched this to death when i had the same problem. you need to replace the socket. dont worry; you can get a dorman socket on the floor at autozone or advance auto for under $10 (dont buy the $50 GM one) and 20-30 minutes of your time. ps- when you go to autozone, get the socket that says "GM taillight bulb socket." its the same thing.

heres a write up w/ pics:

Also make sure that the contacts in the socket are not corroded! My left blinker didnt work either and I took some cleaner and a toothpick and cleared out a crapton of black ****. works like a charm now.

Dude...

Is there an LS1tech vendor that carries that sweet sweet blinker fluid? I've been looking for that for awhile.

my car has the same problem and i have replaced the sockets on both sides at least 2 times now the left one is out again.
from what i figured is that the dtrl's stay on and the bulb melts the socket when i pulled the bulb out a few days ago the plastic piece at the bottom of the bulb was melted.
