Default LS1 Guru's? 5.3/6.0/6.2 questions!

Ok LS1 Quru's I have a questions..LOL
1. Can I use L92 heads on a 5.3 ? Has this been done?
2. Can I use 5.3 heads on a 6.0/6.2 ??

I have found a Aluminum short block LS4/5.3 for 300 dollars. I was thinking Diamond pistons and using a L92 head and a custom cam from Ed. Also can I swap cranks from 6.0 to 5.3?? I have found 5.3's for 200 dollars complete! If these are compatible with LS1s 5.7 versions I could build a 8,000 rpm 5.3 engine that is super light. I can not believe how cheap these freaking parts are..Found built aluminum heads 650.00-800 NEW! And they flow over 300 cfm. What is the max HP a 5.3 can handle? Im liking a 300.00 aluminum block idea. Heck a turbo setup would SCREAM. Ok so if you are able please answer all my questions thanks, Doug.

1. no - bore is too small/ mechanical damage will occur at worst, extreme valve shrouding at best

by the way, the 5.3, 5.7 and 6.0 use the same crankshaft, with the exception of the balancing per each cubic inches different piston/ rod weights

Well im just a newbie to 5.3 and 6.0 ive been around LS1/5.7 engines. Im a mustang owner actually. Im looking really hard at these combo's for my winter project. Im guessing i could come here and learn about these motors. Im seeing alot of potential with cheap cost. I found a LS4/5.3 for 300.00 and its aluminum(wow)..Im trying to find a way to spin a 5.3 to around 8 grand and run 9s or built something like the other 6.0 mustang.

So let me here it guys what parts swap? What are the best flowing heads I can stick on a 5.3?? Thanks Doug!

most and all of this info is heavily researched, documented here by other members. it just takes a few min. to do some real searching.
your not gonna spina 5.3 to 8k on a budget, only way to run 9's with a 5.3 is with a turbo or sc or very lite car and spray. there are literally hundreds of combos and heads used, aftermarket, oe etc.
depends on your goal and budget.

Well been searching this site and im not finding alot of LS1s that run all motor in the 9s. What about the 6.0 setups? I was trolling through the drag race section but people not giving up there info on there setups in detail. Im looking for proven all motor combo's it dont have to be a 5.3. What would it take to spin a 5.3 to 8 grand? I know pistons but how well does the roller stuff inside hold up? I was thinking Arp bolts, solid roller cam setup and a victor.

Unless its for a front wheel drive car or you use a 60* bellhousing trans. the LS4 won't work to well. They all have the 60* bellhousing pattern vs the standard SBC like the rest of the Gen III/IV's.

The trucks had the L33 5.3L aluminum block motors. And the trailblasers had the LR4/LH6 5.3L. The newer truck also have other alumium 5.3l now as well.

The same as everyone else, go fast for cheap as possible. I would like a low 10.1 car to 9.80 car all motor.
