no stock cubed stock ported head nitrous motor needs more than 245 or 650 lift.

assuming the car has a 90mm intake or ls6 and at least a 200 shot. id go 234 250 620 620 lift and 114 lsa... might need to advance it 2 degrees on a ls6. I will also guess not to many will go out on the limb to suggest a cam . and the magic stick would not be a good nitrous cam.

it doesnt matter, look at his screen name.lol

so something huge by large with a wide lsa... big nitrous tends to like alot of exhaust duration so a nice spit would be good and a wider lsa. 114ish will probably be the widest you find in something that big

hey hey dont go hating on my cam...

But def no need for abig duration big lift cam on a stock cube stock ported head car.

do something like shiz said with a nice gap between intake and exhaust duration and it should run pretty good. goodluck.

tht sounds about right. the car does have a prted ls6 intake on it, but will eventually getting a sheetmetal. plans are for a 250 shot. and u say a 114+2? are there any cams like that on the market or do i gotta get a custom grind?

thanks

good attention to detail, lol, so would i be looking for something like a 235/245, or 235/240? how much more exhaust duration? like 5-10? im using 1-3/4 headers if that plays a role. i heard it does

Intake design plays more of a role in camshaft selection than headers. my cam works really well with traditional LS intake than say a single plane. Bigger isn't always better.

Here is my cam 237/243 .597 .617 112+4
You won't find it on any web store though
It does pretty well on a bigger shot.

Your best bet is to have something cut.

If you keep the lift down, the valvetrain will thank you.

If this is a h/c motor stock bottom end, I'd try someting like a 238/248 with a 115 lsa, advance it a degree or 2 as well...and keep the lift in the 580 to 600 range. Heads and intake won't flow any more after that in the lift department, going a ton past that will only cause uneeded wear IMO.

the car is a h/c car, when it was on the dyno it carried power between 390 and 395 from 5700 clear up to 7000 rpm. and thats with a 644 lift cam in it already. so i know the heads flow good with a bigger cam. i do take your advice tho because a smaller cam will always be easier on the valvetrain than the bigger cams. so what ive learned so far is, 235-240 duration. with right around a 600 lift, and a 114+2 or 115+1, this sound right?

We rearly use anything of the shelf . I have ground 10 nitrous cams this summer for guys already.every setup needs something a little different. If you only have relifs we would rpobably have to shorten it up some.....

with small headers and stock ls6 ported you will need more than a 5 degree split on a 250 shot .... 10-12 or else its not worth changing. 630 lift is fine we run more with stock rockers no problem. but you might not have the room on the exhaus side with bigger valves. how much did you cut for the reliefs? what thickness gaskets? what size valves?
