cant tell them apart of both have 317 heads.
need to remove plugs and "feel" top of piston with a pencil and see if it "dips"
which means its dish piston lq4.
if pencil runs across smooth, it is a flat top piston and a lq9

Yes the "luxury" truck Denali and Cadillacs had the lq9 rated at 320hp I do believe. The LQ4 is in the everyday trucks.

yes 6.0 and stock lq4 will handle 500+rw with proper tune, sufficient fuel supply and even more with upgraded rod bolts and valve springs.

yup, will handle more psi stock, make better power with less psi, heads flow better than ls1, but same as ls2 but with larger chamber. scr is 9.4:1 stock
easily take 10+psi with proper tune and injectors.

Here is some info on what I know LQ9'sare good for nitrous because of the flat top piston and the LQ4's are good to boost due to there pistons beening "dished"

In stock form a LQ4 can handle 12 PSI but most people wont go that high of boost so people go with 9-10 PSI

I plan to get a LQ4 from a local place then boost it in the spring. I have a 100 shot right now and I want to do boost + spray but I am unsure what kinda work I will need to do I want 10 PSI plus a 10 shot or maybe a 15 shot.any advice

ok, so basically, i pull the one out and drop the new one in? with fluids and all that jazz, but while its out, i might as well upgrade the rod bolts and springs while im at it. cool.

i guess i just need to find one now, and come up with a genius way to make more room under the hood of the gto?

also, lq4 motors in the trucks, did they come with the 4l80 trans? ifso i guess ill do some research and see what it takes to get that put in the goat as well, cuz if im not mistaken its a bit sturdier then the 4l60e and i may be able to sell the 4l60 for some extra cash
