Default Anyone with TICK lvl. 2 rebuild

My car has been down since Aug. 1st when I snapped my mainshaft.

I sent the tranny off to Tick for a rebuild (level 2) with cryo and REM polishing.

I just wanted to hear about experiances with you Tick rebuilds, the +/- of the rebuild. How well they're holding up, if they are shifting any better or worse and if you have the polishing done if that is a big difference in how the tranny shifts.

Thanks for any info.

Can't wait to get my tranny back

Matt, I appologize for not getting your trans back sooner. Usually our turnaround time is much quicker but we've caught a few snags with the overall process on your trans. The mainshaft and 5/6 driven gear in your trans was an aftermarket peice that I had to track down (its splined the entire legnth of the 5/6 driven gear). Then our cryo guys decided they were taking a vacation.

I just dropped off the gears at the polisher today so it should only be a couple more days now, the cryo is finished... With that said you should love the way your new trans shifts. A good functioning hydraulic system and clutch will do more for smooth shifts than the polishing IMO, but it will help. You may want to look into one of our masters if you want the smoothest shifts possible.

Just put in a new Monster lvl. 3 and brand new master with drill mod until I can save up some money again to pick up your master (probably around january when you guys have a sale on it again).

I just wanted to hear from anyone else that had experience with your tranny rebuilds.

I know you guys are doing good work and have ran into a couple issues with my tranny already, I'm not worried about that because I am excited for the finished product. Even though I've missed a few races/events.

Thank you for all your hard work.

I just had the level 2 rebuild done, however, I did not have it sent to them so I cant comment on that aspect of it. The customer service is superb and Joey is extremely helpful and kind. As recomended to me by my installer, I would upgrade the 5-6 and reverse bronze fork pads and the 5-6 billet keys on top of the level 2 parts. I couldnt afford the 5-6 billet keys as I was in a real crunch, but they are only 60 bucks from www.thegearbox.org. I couldnt be happier with how the trans feels now. Its still a little snug coming out of second, but its getting broke in still. Only 100 miles on it so far. Overall, I am very satisfied with Tick.

I will have the Tick level 2 done in the next couple of weeks. Dropping it off with Steve @ SNL next Friday. Can't wait to be able to shift to 3rd again. I was also wondering about the real life benefits of the cryo and micro polishing. Also getting a Tick M/C, light weight flywheel, and probably a new clutch disk since this one (Monster level 3) has 22K on it already.

i have a level 2 trans except for the gears mine were fine. also, tick didn't do the work. but i have there adj mater cylinder too with a pro 5.0 and a 6" stick all i can say is it's the best mod for an m6. i don't power shift because i enjoy speedshifting. you guys are in for treat if you have both. i have an ls7 clutch too but i def think have 6" stick is a must!

Well I hope it won't be too different for me having an 8" stick... Maybe in this case bigger isn't always better. lol

On a serious note I'm glad to hear everyone's loving their rebuild. I just paid for mine today so it will be shipping tomorrow. I sure hope if feels like a brand new transmission or better. I don't have the tick M/C yet. That will be my next mod. I just have a stocker with the drill mod.

Thanks to Joey and everyone at Tick for dealing with my crap the whole time they've had my tranny. Excellent customer service!

You can do the M12 conversion by using a GTO main output shaft. PM 85MikeTPI, he does this on a regular bases.

The m6 keeps you in every gear the same 1-4 with major rpm drops into 5 and 6
