So I got the old one out and installed the new bmr the correct way. I have the D shaped mounts greased and bolted up but the only thing that is kicking my *** are the endlinks.

I had the car jacked up in the front and tried to put them on. but the bolt was barely peeking through the top of the red bushing (see pic) for it to grab onto the thread of the nut.

I was wondering if i have to have the front wheels loaded ie on ramps?

Am I doing anything wrong?

Probably not the only method of installing it with ease, but from my experience of getting those endlinks installed, the ramps are your "friend."

You really need to have the suspension "loaded" in order to get the links in properly. If you don't have the $$ for ramps, a few "slices" of 2x10 wood under each tire will give you the same effect.

i used a jack to load the suspension while it was a little of the ground on a lift..try it

+1 about installing with the suspension loaded... its a must. Also, I acuallly had to cut about 1/4 inch off of the metal tube "spacer" (not sure of correct term) that keeps the bushings seperate in order to get the swaybar endlinks from energy suspension on. This was especially a problem with the rear swaybar. THe bolts had plenty of thread on them to cut down that spacer and it just was not going to happen with it the way it was.

You should be installing the bar with the suspension in a normal loaded position. The reason why they don't line up is because your control arms are at full droop while your chassis is up pretty high, which probably makes the install awkward. The chassis mounts and endlink mounts will be at their natural position when the suspension is loaded normally.

I haven't always had an easy install though with endlinks. The energy suspension set I got wants to work with a stock ride height, so I ended up reusing my old spacers on the new endlinks.

As everyone else stated install the sway bar with the suspension loaded.

sorry to thread jack, but its probably better than starting a new thread..


What happens if the sway bar is installed witht he suspension UN-loaded, ie. car off the ground.

I've had both my front and rear like that for a little while...I've been experiecing a noise in the front of my car, might be a tie rod or ball joint but i dont think so...could installing the sway bars on a unloaded suspnsion put stress on the car or cause noises?

it won't be an issue, it just makes it harder to install the endlinks.

hm...i had no issues getting mine installed...drove the s#i% out of it too after. felt great.

I ended up having to take 1/4 of an inch off like previously stated by "ls1zfast". All is well now. . about to go take it out for a ride.

Btw i used a dremel
