Default My car doesn't seem to be downshifting as much?

Over the past half a year it seems that my car just needs more and more throttle to actually downshift to first. Even when going 55-65mph it seems like it needs a lot of gas to downshift to third or second. Now sometimes when even going 30-32mph it won't downshift to first even when pressing the gas to the floor as fast as possible. Is this a sign of the transmission going or something. I'm pretty sure my fluid level is perfect. Tried a search, Thanks.

my car does the same things at times, so you are not alone. if i'm at a 50ish roll and i floor it, it just slowly speeds up. after a bit *sometimes* it will finally downshift.

try tapping the break b4 you accelerate to take your converter out of lockup... that helps me

Floored it just now at 30mph, stayed in second or third....WTF. Also it shifted from fourth to third and then finally second at about 65mph.

Check your "Kick-down" cable, yes yes i know the 4l60e is all electronic, but also check the fluid level and condition.

Fliud level and condition is good. I floored it for an on ramp today again to see if it's still doing this and it went from fourth to third and finally second. Did same thing from third to second and finally first too. FLT or Performabuilt, have any ideas?

Ironically mine has been doing the same at a 25mph roll it will not downshift even though acc to my tuner it 'should' downshift into first. Although, it is a stock tranny with a **** ton more power going through it then stock so who the hell knows.

the border for the downshift on mine is right at 31. if i'm going 32, it won't downshift, if i'm going 31 it will.

try cleaning your maf, make sure you're running 93 octane fuel, plugs, basic little stuff. also if i'm low on gas the car is muchhhh more hesitant to downshift.

I'd like to figure out why the car is doing this before I put the performabuilt stg II in that I just ordered if anybody can help. How could I check if the TPS is causing it? Thanks.
