Question I need a muffler that is quiet and flows good ???

I have a H/C car with a Magnaflow catback without cats and it's too loud for me. I need a muffler that is quieter but flows well. Any advice? I'll be keeping my cutout. And I tried a search with no success.

You could try putting a couple of small magnaflow bullet mufflers in the Y-pipe, or put one right after the Y-pipe.

It sounded great with a stock motor with long tubes and ory. But once the H/C was done, holy ****, my 2yo boy says, too loud daddy

Try adding another muffler in the intermediate pipe as mentioned. Also, maybe you could consider adding high flow cats.

i think the loudness is to the tone of the exhaust as well , just how some people think some people think certain catbacks sound awesome and others think they sound like ****, someone with a magnaflow could like the way a slightly louder exhaust sounds with a dif tone, i think thats why i dont like my magnaflow that much, cruising i dont really like the tone, but at WOT its to die for , so hopefully lontubes will help me out with the tone i want, but if not im gonna say screw it and save up for a GMMG

I was trying to find an exact replacement for the magnaflow muffler, but nothing is that EZ

I'm thinking about going back to a stock set up with a cutout (stock set up being just the cat back)

i sugest puting a bullet muffler in the i pipe.
i have lt's tsp ory and a single in single out oval magnaflow muffler with a hidden tip and i was geting an exhaust leak sound that i couldent fix and all my exhaust is welded so there is no leaks.
so i had an slp lm2 muffler laying around so i had it welded to my i pipe right after the y mearge and it fixed the problem.

it toned it down a little and helped the sound.

I'm in the same boat as you.. Coming from my old car (ms4 Xpipe dumped before axle w/ 1 chambers).. When I want it quiet I want to close the cutout and be QUIET! Not sound like a stock car with a cutout.

I have been told even on H/C cars this is the way to go if you want quiet.. I think if I try a different muffler this is what I will be doing.

Don't do that.. Sounds like garbage IMO..

Will a bullet or something similar really quiet it down that much? How much will it effect the tone, I don't want any more rasp than it already has.

EDIT::: I don't want to spend a lot of money on this.. Someone posted something SLP for like 200$, I'm not spending that much.. Will the little 35$ used bullets work?
