6.0 Intake question
My friend recently just got a FREE 6.0 out of a truck and were are going to swap it into a toyota, I was wondering where i could find a carb and intake for it ? Thanks to anyone with info

Ok in the process of doing this swap will we need a computer to go with it all or can it be made like a regular sbc with distributor and regular coil ? Thanks to all with info

Yes it can. Just so you know you free motor is going to become VERY costly! You would be better off getting a harness and computer. If you want the carb for looks or other reasons, awesome but plan on spending some cash. You will need to get the computer re-tuned because it is a for a 5.7 LS1 not a 6.0. Good luck.

thanks guys im not sure i thought going Carb would be easyer than trying to hook up all that fuel injection crap. Let me know your thoughts. which ever way would be easyest will be the way we go

Personally, I would stick with the coil on plug, instead of adding the mechanically complex adapter for a distributor. To me, the mechanical distributor drive is another point for failure that GM has been able to eliminate on all the LS series engines.

According to the instructions, the Edelbrock unit has 6 different curves.
Wiring everything up doesn't look too bad, just one page on the instructions found here.
Here is the condensed version. The text from the link above has a great deal more description on how to locate and identify all the wiring. They couldn't make it much easier.
• TIMING CONTROL MODULE INSTALLATION:
1. Attach the module to the intake manifold so that the main harness will face towards the passenger side.
2. Route the harness around to the passenger side of the engine and towards the rear of the engine. Locate the Crankshaft Position Sensor
connector and connect it.
3. Locate the MAP Sensor connector and connect.
4. Locate the Camshaft Position Sensor connector and connect.
5. Connect the 7 wire connectors to each coil pack.
6. Locate the portion of the harness with the four non-terminated wires (Pink,
Blue, Black, & Yellow). These will be connected to the following sources:
Pink - Main power, connect to a SWITCHED ignition power source
Black - Chassis ground
Blue - A/C compressor
Yellow - Tachometer output signal
If you can handle that, but want a cleaner look, you can get a coil relocation kit and mount them on the firewall. Links to a couple of threads, and a pic from each one.
