Installing Forged pistons in stock shortblock, Do i need to have it honed/bored??
Im installing my Wiseco forged pistons into my 24k mile stock shortblock.
They pistons are .005 over sized if i recall.
Do i just need to run a manual hone through the block and dial caliper measure it, or have a machine shop hone it .005 over to the pistons???
I know i have to have the pistons pressed onto the rods and im installing ARP rod bolts onto the stock rods.
also since the motors apart im installing new main/rod bearings. Is there anything special i need to know?? Where can i find all the torque specs on this motor.

YES As all machine shops will say the same, Hone it .005 and have them clean it up and your ready to go!!

I just had mine done. I would recommend letting a machine shop do it because the crosshatches need to be right and at the right angles. If your doing the whole motor, you will need to turn the crank 10/10 to clean it up and have a purfect bearing surface. Also, have the cam bearings replaced!

Have the machine shop do it. Just to be safe. Its cheap insurance.

Well I dont want to turn the crank with 20k miles on it. Ill have it polished. And ive got new main/rod bearings.
