Default Any reason not to remove this plug/bolt & connect to the oil galley?

Passenger side of block, front lower end, right behind the A/C bracket mounting hole area there is a plug/bolt that leads to the oil galley. I want to use the access point for an oil temp gauge. Wanted to clarify that the bolt doesn't have any purpose other than a simple plug. Didn't know if it's restricting cross-flow or something. Please confirm. Thank-you

Why not use the piece by the oil filter? Thats where the vettes have the factory sensor. Just drill it out and thread it.

The pass side has one water plug, but no oil galley access in the block. You had me wondering enough over the weekend that I had to look!

Yah, you're right. I use the gold coolant & thought it was oil. Guess it's back to the teed in location for the temp.

Thanks all for the replies.
