Default LS1 ECU & Coils on my Turbo LT1

Hey everyone....I have recently finished my EFI Connection 24x conversion on my LT1. I had a little free time on the dyno so i made a few pulls. With 15* of advance at 11psi it made over 500rwhp on pump gas. I repaced the optispark for good after I got tired of a high rpm miss. I love the driveablilty with this computer on my car. These coils are great!! Im running like a .45 gap on my plugs and the entire rpm range is clean. Feel free to ask any questions or leave comments.

A little info on the car..94 TA, 355ci forged LT1 with heads ported by me, poor little 70mm turbo, crappy air to air setup currently, lumpy lunati cam, converted to 6 speed, 3.23 gears still in the rear, ls2 coils, 2 bar SD tune and a bunch of other stuff ....Later

Nice car and setup. I have everything to do the CNP 24x conversion on my truck. I am planning to do it this winter when the truck is put away.

thanks jeff....good luck with your truck..i've been trying to talk my buddy with a tbi tahoe into it too...

i love regular distributors, we run them on the racecars but the opti is terrible with reliability...although i did make over 700RWHP with the opti in the past so its not all bad. the tuning with boost and the ecu was the deciding factor here....the opti deletion is just a bonus.

Can you please provide a little more detail? Was this the same engine or another?

Last week we saw a clear 15hp gain at TPIS on their dyno when first pulling a 396ci LT1 with MSD optispark and high output coil (and LT1 PCM) and then 15hp gain after installing the 24x equipment and tuning with the LS1 PCM. Not a forced induction engine.

Mike....same motor, more timing, more boost and race gas...I really only got like 6 pulls on the dyno and just pump gas...
I will post up my old pump gas dyno if I can find It, I know this new one is much cleaner up top.

Nice setup, I have to agree it gets old chasing the dreaded high RPM miss from the opti's in these cars. It would not be so bad if it were consistent, but most of the time the opti just has a mind of its own.

it is a 2bar SD tune and i'm loving the Real time tuning....the maf is there, just not being used, well physically yes but electronically no i'm debating on a long piece of silicone or getting the welder out to delete the maf...

some more tune time on the current setup will pass the old pump gas tune i'm sure!

old dyno sheet (pump gas and race gas), same motor, more timing and better a/w intercooler before it started leaking...

i did the harness myself with an extra obd2 lt1 harness i had laying around...but now that its done im thinking over 25% of the harness can be stripped out. im thinking over the winter to just use the connectors and make a harness wire by wire, but it may only clean up the harness a little bit so i donno...the ones mike does are really good looking!

thanks, I bought the DIY kit from EFI Connection. Should have it done by January. I am building the motor right now. 383 w/ TEA Trickflow heads, Vic Jr Intake, Vortech Ysi with Cog 22lbs of boost.

This set up should rip. Keep you all posted.
