Smile What Should I Build?

Hello all, I am trying to debate what to build for an engine setup. my car right now is a LS1 with PRC Stage 1 LS6 heads, MS4 cam, LS6 intake and a TNT 150 wet nitrous kit.
Here's my question. I came into some money and I'm deciding what to build. I have 3 choices that I've thought of so far.

1. A 457 HKE built long block from CC Performance Parts yes i know its not forced induction
2. A 408 with a KYTP twin turbo build
3. A 418 built LS3 with a F1C Procharger

Also I have a strong rearend and I would like to leave the car a 6 speed, but if i went the twin turbo route I would get a 4L80E if its feasible.

I have roughtly $27,000 to spend. Let me know. Also I dont wanna buy someone's car as mine is a low mileage car and its Mystic Teal and I love that color.

Does anyone think I can get into the 8's for this kinda money?

Give me some help people. I came here to ask because this site has some of the smartest people I've seen

Thanks once again, Jame

You trying to build an 8 sec car or a 7 sec car? Is this going to be an all out race car?

I do not like 4.00" stroke.

I'm wanting to build an 8 second car. I dont really have that much money to build a 7 sec car. It will be a race car that i can go to the local grocery store and tool around town. i live in a small town so its not gonna have to worry bout stopand go traffic

I'd say N/A all the way. I would go with something like the HKE or a LSX with a Harrop intake. From what I've read, on a motor like that, the Harrop intake really makes a huge power increase over something like a Beck or Fast. Sure, its expensive, but worth it.

all motor 8's and street drivability just dont go together. 6 speeds and turbos also dont as the op stated, id go with the F1 setup, but be ready to rebuild that motor in 15 or 20k miles.

go with the turbos with 4l80e in the end because you can keep the turbos from beating up the motor, ie no boost no spool till you floor it. but keep in mind youll be street drivin with a very high stall, which can be interesting to say the least.

OP your question is not so cut and dry, what kind of street manners are you looking for? your probly gonna need a fab 9 or 9inch and obviously the cage is going to be expensive, all new suspension, etc.

what all do you have already for the rest of the car that will support 8's?

I will already have an M9 with 35 spline axles. I"ve driven a car with a high stall. Also my MS4 setup right now bucks alot and I drive it all the time. Needs more of a tune on it. Im gonna be selling that motor. I will put a 10pt cage in it. Plus I plan on talking to madman about a suspension setup. Its gonna cost alot and prolly more than the 27,000 that I have. If anything I guess i can just have a low 9 second car

all that considered, I would say build a bullet proof bottom end, go with a truck manifold setup and crank the **** outta the boost. big single frontmount, youll have the power for cheaper, the ET is very doable etc. theres a 91mm with a T4 flange out there now, theres been a bunch of truck manifold setups hit the 1000whp mark, def go with a th400 or 4l80e.

I think im either gonna with with a single 91 or twin 70's instead of 76's. I kinda want something that if i wanna go down the highway for 10 miles I can, but I want a high 8 low 9 second car.

it goes without sayin the twins will be more expensive but you can do TT with truck manifolds.. also i was just reading a thread i think yesterday of a guy in sweden makin over 1300whp on a single 91mm LQ9. it was all out race but just shows the potential. ill see if i can find it, and post you the link.
