There was a leak saying that the DOHC Coyote 5.0 will produce 468 fwhp. Thats around 90 hp per liter! Thats roughly 420ish to the wheels. You could hit the 11s very easy in the 2011 GT if the leak is true.

However, the 2000 NA DOHC 5.4 Cobra Rs only made 385 fwhp. So Ford subtracted .4 liters and 11 years of R&D later they gain 80 horsepower??? I was guessing that the 5.0 was going to produce 400-425 fwhp, not 468.

Either Ford is coming out with a bad *** engine or the Ford boys making up stupid **** again. Still, the 2011 GTs are going to be fast, but not that fast.

Some of those dfwstangers are funny as hell. I've personally owned 8 foxbodies and a first gen lightning, but IMO ford lost their edge in 1993 when they went from lightweight and fast to heavy and modu-junk. My goal is to build a black on black 93 lx coupe with a heads cam ls1 and t56. 450 hp in a 2800lb car=awesome.

Ford hasn't had an answer for the ls series motor yet. I'd love to see a 351w style motor, that would make for a bad *** platform to build off of.

I like ford, but they should have never gone to the 4.6's. Even when I had my 347 in my mustang it would poop all over even the supercharged s197's on motor. 5.0's ftw.
