Default LS6 Intake

I have a 2000 WS6 and my next mod is a ls6 intake. I know that the 2000's had an egr valve. Is it better to block off the egr or just buy a slp ls6 intake that has the egr on it? I live in Texas.

just block off the egr, you can still pass emissions without it

You'll be fine in Texas. When they do emissions here it's not like California. They pop the hood, act like they look around then close it lol. I'm putting mine in my 99' tomorrow.

Yeah as long as you can get past the visual then go for it.

I think there is more to consider than just EGR or No EGR. I think what he is asking is it any better performance wise with or without?

I think that we've covered the emmisions thing. If you get an easy visual you are all set.

As far as price, a used LS6 will be cheaper than the SLP with the EGR provision.

What I've always wondered is, how hard is it and how much does it cost to convert a used LS6 to an LS6 with the EGR provision yourself? I now live out in Cali and I have to have it for visual.

Thanks,

Go with the Egr version. I have had nothing but problems from inspection places due to other items....They will check!

Do you plan on getting headers at some point? Depending on which headers (if you do get them) you will have to delete the egr anyway. I ditched mine and had the codes deleted from egr/air removal.
Side note it cleared up the engine bay alot to.
