SS LS1,

Your car looks really sweet!

I am currently looking into adding the CME tips/valance to my GMMG. I'm trying to locate some used tips and I sent an inquiry to SLP about buying the necessary parts. Anyway, do you have any underside pics of the CME adapted to a GMMG catback? How did you do the conversion? Thanks!

Thanks for the compliments!

The conversion is quite straight forward if you have both the left and right SLP 90deg elbows and the CME tips. This was all I needed along with the GMMG of course.

All you need to do is flare or expand the inlet of the 90deg elbows to allow the GMMG to slip inside and give you adjustment of your CME tip up and down to fit properly within the rear valance. The intersecting pipes meet at an angle so they must be held and place welded in place. Amazingly the width of the GMMG pipes and the CME with the 90deg elbows was and exact match! But we still spent over an hour getting the tips to sit properly within the valance (I am WAY pickey on how things look on my car). But the time spet was well worth it in the long run.

You may also want to brace the CME tips as they are prone to cracking where they are welded together in the middle. Also be sure to add a few more pipe hangers to the system to support the weight of the tips.

Hope it helps, Greg

Here are some pics of my braced CME tips.

.....and a couple pics of a GMMG system fitted to the CME tips and CME to SLP Loudmouth. They are not of my car but you get the idea.

Mine 90deg elbows didn't line up at all. But after purchasing to new slp 90deg bent pieces of pipe and having a muffler shop cut, expand the ends, and test fit, it worked out. Here is a few pics.

What material are the CME tips made of? It appears to be cast aluminum.

You are right. Aluminum. Polishes up real nice on the tip edges, the other rough surfaces take alot of work.
