Default Odd Hesitation

I am experiencing a slight/moderate hesitation or stutter when idling, slow backup, etc.

Knowing what a bad O2 sensor feels like, THAT is what it feels like.

Say this out loud....

duh duh duh duh duh duh dum duh duh duh duh dum dum duh duh

That might help LOL. I can feel and hear it when it does this.

Throwing NO codes and no pending codes. Do not want to spend $20 to have it thoroughly scanned if I can look at other possibilities first ya know?

Has new plugs and air filter and recently changed oil (another thing that happened was my car told me to ADD OIL the other day when it was just changed 1500mi ago! WTF! There was almost none on the dipstick!)

Did this before air filter and plugs too btw.

Any thoughts?

Well that's comforting. I have been reading it's normal so at least the motor isn't shot, LOL.

It doesn't make a noise, but you can hear the engine like cutting out. Like it's missing a little.

how many miles are on your car? have you replaced the o2 sensor?
Also, not to question your skills but I would double check the plug wires to makes sure they are on the plug and coil snug. I owned a saturn a couple years ago that was occasionally running minus 1 cylinder due to a loose plug wire and it never threw the check engine light. I could only tell due to the idle and missing power.

One other thing to try, wait for dark , raise the hood with engine running and look for any random spark from ignition wires shorting to motor. Might have a cracked wire or wire boot.

I cleaned my MAF at around 80k and it made the car run like new again.

I will do that in the dark and check my connections. I also was planning on cleaning the maf and TB but have been too lazy and then running a can of seafoam through it and seeing if that helps.

Thanks!

Its funny you mentioned the fact that its eating oil. My cousin's car had the exact same problem, took it to the dealer, they replaced his lifters. Stopped burning oil and idling rough. I was like, WTF? How did LIFTERS cause oil consumption?

I haven't touched it yet, but I will add that it's doing it when I am at stoplights etc as well. I am getting 18.1mpg with mostly coasting driving around 40-50mph. No hot rodding either.

Hmm. Just have to wait and see tomorrow when I do that stuff to it!
