Default Newb First Valvespring/Camshaft Install

Installing an ls1 hotcam kit /w the ls6 valvesprings in a 2005 lq4 6.0l truck motor. The ls6 springs came with some valve seats that are different from the lq4 ones I have. The ones in my engine contain the seal while the ls6 ones have a separate seat and seal (seal not included). From taking some quick measurements, I think that the installed height of the spring will be the same with either seat (around 1.805 and the install height spring recommendation is 1.801). Does that mean I can just use the stock seats I have, swap the ls6 springs in without any shims and call it good? Anyone know where to find stock valvespring installed heights for the 05 lq4 to back up the measurements i took?
I really appreciate the help!

You can run either style seat/seal with those springs. If yours are in good shape and not leaking, you can rock them. If they are questionable, go ahead and replace them

^x2. Just replace them. Everything looks nice right now but after it starts smoking on start ups it's gonna be a pain in the *** to swap afterwards. Just my 2 cents.

The new seats for the springs look like they need a separate oil seal which I would have to order. The engine has 60k on it but the original oil seats look fine to me.

Pull the head. You may be able to get it up with compressed air if the retainer groove is still upwards of the seal but i probably wouldnt risk it.

unless you have a real small telescoping magnet i'd say your gonna have to pull the head then go back with air. is the intake off already?

No it's not that bad, just make sure you torque and degree in sequence... Why didn't you just make sure the piston was at tdc before you pulled the valve spring???

No do not try to push it up if it has fallen in the cylinder... You will most likely bend the valve, you will need a new head gasket also... In the future it is much easier to do the tdc method. This is the torque wrench i use (the third one) http://www.sears.com/shc/s/search_10...+wrench&vName=
When doing the heads you will also need to degree the bolts, draw a horizontal line across the head of the bolt with a sharpie and use that mark to judge what degree you are at...
