set-up advice
I've managed to save up $1000 and am ready to spend it.
I already have an slp lm and lid. A solid high to mid 11's is fine with me.
My plan was to spend my money on some lt's, ls6 intake, and tune but I can get a set of ls6 heads off of an 01 Z06 w/75k for $325.
Should I stick with original plan or get the heads? Should I just get the heads, cam, and headers instead?

I never said I was expecting to run the times I want with a G. I said I had $1000 to spend right now and was asking a question and was letting people know what my total expectation were for the car so they could get an idea on what was best for me.
So since you would rather roll your eyes than help me stay the f*ck out my thread...

Not trying to be an ***, but either one of those routes will be more than a thousand. A good tune alone will take half of the money...unless you have a guy to do it for dirt cheap. So if you're planning on doing all of that at once, i would save more money, or just go for the LT's for now. Just my 2 cents. For all i know you work in a shop to do it all yourself. Good luck either way. I wish i had a grand to spend on my car. haha

OH, didn't realize the "used" part. That would be the route to go right now. Get the car breathing better for now and then start to save up for the heads/cam.

best bet, is to try and find some used headers in the for sale section. probably be able to get longtube headers, ory for maybe around 300 bucks. then i would get some subframes, and other suspension parts. but really, if i were you, i would just get the longtubes, and save the rest until you have enough for a 12 bolt or built tranny.

Fixed that for you.. If it were me I would get a used nitrous kit for around 350-400$.. Fuel pump for 100$.. Tires/stock rims for 300$.. You will be fine on stock tune for a little bit spraying less than 125 shot.. Once you have enough for a tune then get it..

If you can halfway drive, 11.90s on a 100 shot can be had..i've done it with a stock 98z, 100 dry shot on stock goodyear tires. no tune

if you can pick up the LS6 stuff cheap...do it.
i see you having 2 routes to go....power mods...or traction mods
power won't help if you cant hook.
i'd look into the following:
lower control arms - $120
torque arm bushing - $15
LT headers/orp - $500 new
ls6 intake - $300
the car will drive fine as is...then save for a tune. or save for a small cam and tune.
although, putting a set of milled LS6 heads on a bolt on engine is not a bad option. keeping the stock cam will maintain perfect driveabilty and reliability. have the heads milled for more compression and maybe a quick multi-angle valve job (couple hundred $$) and you could easily see 20hp with the heads.
you'd need a tune after that...
but if you can get ahold of the heads now, get them and sit on them till you can afford to do more.
lots of options.

Maybe you should not go into peoples threads just to be a douchebag. If you dont have anything positive to say just keep your mouth shut. I know how hard it is for you Louisiana boys. Just try and keep those dicks out your mouth and you should be ok....Now go kill a fuking deer or eat a quail egg or some boudain....

I went ahead and bought the heads on the cheap and the guy threw in the stock cam from his 01 Z06. Ill just sit on the for now until I can get the money for eveything else. I am going to do some suspension mods with the rest of my money I have now...

i say good choice.
if nothing else the heads are a bargain. milled with a valve job can gain some good power on the cheap.
i was very pleased with how my car launched with just LCAs and a poly Torque Arm bushing.
i was running crap tires and would wheel hop like mad. added those 2 upgrades and the tires just spun nice and smooth (like i said...**** tires). when i finally added decent rubber the car would squat and go...nice and smooth.
for the low cost and relatively easy job to swap parts...it is a great first round of mods.
