I had my coolant level sensor replaced a while back because the light indicating low coolant levels wouldnt disappear. The light stopped coming back on for a few months. Now unless its really cold outside, the light just comes right back on. Any ideas on why it would be coming back on? oh and i dont have DEX coolant in it anymore and the mechanic said thats probably what made it go bad in the first place.

Can you unplug the sensor and the light go off? the sensor might have gone bad again.

honestly i have no idea where the sensor is. i had it replaced by a shop

The sensor is on the upper part of the radiator on the passanger side. It is square shape.

if i unplugged it and the light went away, could i leave it unplugged?

If you do, you wont know if the coolant level gets low again. I think that if you jump the 2 terminals the light should come on. That would show that the circuit is good. Did the shop give you any warranty on the part?

there might be a warranty i actually dont remember. but ill try it and if its bad ill most likely either go to the shop to see if i have the warranty or just buy another one and do it myself

If you replace it, get the sensor from GM. All aftermarket sensors are crap.

I did. I actually got a GM sensor as cheap as an aftermarket one.
