any of you guys drive an auto? does it drive better in 3 or 2 instead of just regular D (drive) i snow/ice??? i know if you get stuck (from experience) to turn traction control off but what about for daily driving on ice or snow? Not a lot of snow usually around here but we just had a blizzard, only my second winter with my T/a.

I hear that lol. Mine doesn't leave the garage unless it's 0% chance of rain haha. and about all the use it gets in the winter is starting it up every week or two to keep it fresh lol.

I feel for you. Can't imagine putting the cars away for the winter. Sounds like a wise thing to do though. I hear salt can be brutal on a car.

Well this sucks, I recently moved to peoria illinois and i'm finding out how lazy they are with the plowing, I can't even get out of my parking lot. The actual streets don't even get plowed until about mid-afternoon.. Now that I'm on my own and have no other cars to use I might have to consider getting rid of the TA

You can always get a winter beater. I know I would before letting the T/A go.

I too live in IL.. I bought my Trans Am in 7/2005 and drove it through 1 winter. I knew the folllowing year I wanted a DD and to store my car. So in 10/2006 I bought my Toyota (DD) and my Trans Am has been usede only as a summer/weekend car only.

My Trans Am has not seen rain or snow since 2005

Get some peice of crap truck or something, and then put collector insurance (or what ever your insurance comp. calls it) on the T/A. they restrict the miles your allowed to put on the car but my company never asks me about it lol. it made my insurance on my trans am go from 180/mo to 60/mo. and then my truck insurance (liability only) is only 75/mo so i'm paying less for two cars. Don't know if it would work the same for you but it's something to look into at least.

mine's been in the garage since nov 7th. it was about the same last year. they use way too much salt to drive a nice car in the winter. my car was a southern rust free car and i'm going to keep it that way.

Just picked up my 2000 from a friend to daily drive Mods in sig.

So far it's been pretty solid with the few inches we've had off and on the last few weeks. Gotta keep it clean, spray it off once or twice a week, and garage it when home.

I think i've got a solution, since the only cars i really enjoy driving are f-body's i think i might just find a cheap v6 to use. That way i can get somethin with a little less mileage and because it's got less power i could throw on some snow tires to make it easier to drive in the winter. This would also give me a chance to take better care of the TA
