Default Finished installing monster level 2

Just finished the install and took it for a spin and it worked great! I was having a vibration and it is completely gone. The car is a lot more fun to drive now. Once I get it broke in, I will see if my high rpm shifting issues are gone.

1) I forgot to lock-tite the flywheel and pressure plate. Is that okay? (I torqued them to spec though FW=74 ft-lb PP=52 ft-lb)

2) It is chattering when I slip the clutch. Is this normal for a new clutch? (this was my first clutch install)

3) I'm a little confused on the break in period. Are you just supposed to be easy on it for 500 miles and drive around town a lot?

Thanks for the help!

P.S. I also installed a remote bleeder and it is amazing!

You might be ok without the locktite. I always do it for insurance. Yeah chatter is normal while breaking in most aftermarket clutches should go away with a stage 2. Break in is usually 500 miles of stop and go driving

Has anyone ever not used lock tight and been okay?

I don't want to take it out again. Maybe I'll drive it around until it's broken in and then lock tight everything.

That's what I wanted to hear. haha. At least one person who didn't use loctite and was fine. Did you torque them all to spec or take them tighter?

make sure you guys save yourself some trouble and put some loctite on you PP and FW bolts! I'm gonna ride it out and see if they come loose.

installed mine with no locktite

4yrs and no problems.

for the break in the more around town you do the better.

they say 500miles, but that doesn't mean get on the highway with a full tank of gas and drive.
if you drive it in alot of traffic, you may be through the break-in faster.

Loctite is highly recommended, but as long as you follow the torque procedure you should be fine. Chatter is normal for the first 500 miles. PM me your email and I will forward you the break in instructions.

the level 3 would be the correct choice for you simple because having a level 3 would be just like having a beef up Ls7 clutch and you will love that monster clutch thats a promise!

I safety wired all my bolts. A little over kill but it is great to know that know of them will come out. Used the stockers for pics and to this bolt place and they actually had safety wire bolts instock so I pulled all the clutch bolts out and safety wired them.

Opened it up a little today and it shifts AMAZING. Effortless going into every gear and very smooth.

Monster + Tick MC + New slave + remote bleeder FTW!!!!
